Stream of waste

Stream of Waste was developed during an artist residency in Loviisa, Finland, and later presented at the City Museum of Loviisa as part of the exhibition Critical View on Plastic. The work extends the Weather Report series and focuses specifically on the image of a polluted river or stream.
The installation takes the form of a moving band of plastic, travelling horizontally like a conveyor belt. The plastic assemblage is composed of bottles, bags, packaging, and various small objects, many of which carry handwritten messages or drawings created by local participants. This horizontal motion refers directly to rivers and streams that carry human waste toward lakes and seas.
